I am in EB2 with a US Master's degree. My priority date is April 2006 and my case is not approved. Many of friends same boat as me are not approved.
So "reddymjm" I don't think all US Master's degree in EB2 are approved.

You can get NJ DL on reciept and employers letter. Only thing is you need to go to Trenton or other service centers and not in local office. I got it few months back when I was in you situation.

Anyway, it's taking four months as of now. People who filed in Feb, getting approvals in June. So,if we had filed in May then, it's Sep approval.
Hope my words go wrong.....
I'm really hoping they'll catch up and we won't have to wait 4 months. My 6th year H1 is expiring this December and I need to get the I-140 approved so I can get H1 extension.

Thanks, we expect some of the offices will say this. There can be lot of answers to this question. One way to respond is -
"For last 10 years there has been no High-skilled immigration bill passed by the Congress. The world has changed in last 10 years. I understand that the Senator is a champion for creating more jobs in America. Employment based green cards will create jobs in America. I want to start my own company and hire people in America. But I cannot do that if I don't have a green card.
I would sincerely request you to please convey to the Senator if he would consider supporting some version of the immigration bill
giving more weight to green cards and creating jobs in America, or maybe the Senator could lead the effort for improving the proposal"

Still some Senators does not understand difference between H1b issue and GC backlog and how can they understand the Administrative issue like this. But Congress women Lofgren will get reply for her letter from DOS and USCIS.
I called the congresswomen and senator from our constituencies. They do not have any idea what I am talking about. I think I made them more confused than ever.
We need to come up with a letter format, which can be printed and send it to them by mail as well as we need to have web fax with a clear message.

Guys,
My understanding of the 1-485 processing is that there are several things that they do and checking the PD is the last thing they do to issue a GC.
The RD is the order that they follow until they find out if your PD is current. As for moving by RD, I have noticed that movement in NSC for the last 6 months has been really slow. And now, with so many more apps pouring in it can only get slower. But given the fact they are under the microscope right now they might just kick the tires and processing may pick up speed for a few months. This will benefit all the ppl who have been waiting for 485 approvals for 6+ months and their PD's are really (g)old. It might also benefit recent filers in getting EAD/AP sooner. But all of this going to be very political and can swing either way. So I wouldn't bet my money on either side and/or logic :D

I think there are many ways to look at it. Doing Free service , yes it is a form of Gandhigiri, but will that cause the lawmakers to recognize us and pass laws in favor o fus..I do not think so.
I think our situation is no different than people in South Africa in Gandhian times. How Gandhi fought for them is by writing and writing and pestering the Authorities to reduce unfair taxes on Indians in SA and to solve other problems they had like cannot ride in the same Trains/cars as Whites etc...., fighting for their rights in a Vocal but Non Voilent - non aggressive approach.
We, in this post , have equated Gandhigiri with - divide ur attention - Go Do MBA- be occupied with something else while u are retrogressed, furthur ur career/skills,,,etc I do not think that is what Gandhigiri is about i.e. doing something for the self, but instead do it for the community. In this case IV is our community and its leaders are doing the right thing for our cause and if we continue to support that by adding members, funds we will do a fair bit of gandhigiri towards our cause.

Appreciate all the groundwork you have done so far with reference to sending out mail.
I am based out of DC Metro area and would like to initiate / participate in meeting the lawmakers about the EB3 Issue and bringing it to their attention.
We need to do something about it NOW.
I am willing to take off from work and meet with whoever concerned would make a difference.

Just called offices of the following senators, spoke with the assistants, explained my position and left a message. Most of them have no position yet till more details about the legislation comes in. As details unfold in nearby future, I will actually try to go meet my local senators - they are key for this legislation. Last yr, I had met my local congressman's assistant.
