I told him that i have to make travel arrangements for the month of october.
He said to call back mid next week, if i didnot get the receipt by then.
Looks like they are having aggressive internal deadlines.

Look's like he just wanted to lose you.The receipt notice time lines are published. What the rep say means nothing

But why should we lose the PD that we've been hanging on to for so long. For all we know, they might retrogress EB2 next - with USCIS, there's no room to take chances. I'm on my 10th yr here and don't want anything to go wrong at this point.

This is what i had read one of the blog sites i visit
The Bridge Amendment that we all had such high hopes for last week has failed to survive conference. This is an enormous setback to our effort.
All is not lost however, there is still a chance for the amendment to be offered in one of the forthcoming budget bills, including a likely omnibus at years end.
You Can check out the Site
http://hammondlawgroup.blogspot.com/
SA 3404 to HR 3043 is the one which is failed to survive the Senet
SA 3404 to HR 3043, seeks to amend the forthcoming Labor Health and Human Services appropriations bill, by recapturing 61,000 unused visas for Schedule A workers and their derivative family members.
And the Second one is
SA 3442, is also offered as an amendment to HR 3403. SA 3442 is a much more comprehensive amendment that seeks to recapture visas for not just Schedule A workers and their derivative family members, but also for conventional EB workers.
Hope i had answered your query

Folks,
I sent the email with almost similar content as the hardcopy letter we are talking here and CC 'ed the email to USCIS-COMPLAINT@DHS.GOV as well.
My Subject was : "Complaint about Unfair and Haphazard EB3 I-140 handling at Nebraska(NSC)"
Also i just noticed that USCIS account where i CC'ed came back with a "Out of Office Autoreply" and in the out of office message they said its an inactive account - blah ! blah !.... which gives me a feeling someone is definitely reading the account and its pretty much active but just to avoid burden of replying emails they utilized ( rather mis utilized) the feature in a very Naive manner.
Did anyone else received any reply - i'll post if i receive any reply.
By the way - How about dropping a email to Ombudsman as well , saw in another thread that this approach worked ... TSC and NSC 140 sufferers can put Subject as TSC and NSC accordingly.
cisombudsman.trends@dhs.gov
Let us know how many wrote emails ( in case they couldn't get 7001 from employer) or both email and letter is good to keep the pressure ON !

no. of h1b issued in last 4 years 65kX4= 260k
even if you double that (which i m sure is not the case), still it come to 500k.
so ure over estimating it.
thanks
What about L1-A and L1-B? They are a lot too. 192,000-60,000 = L1 number each year.

yes, my previous reply to your post was a bit sarcastic. Didnt mean to offend anyone!
Using your same token, can we say "there are many idiots here who don't know what parenting is and use their parents to get a life for themselves and then ditch them?"
Dude, straitjacketing doesn't work and as you said, it is totally based on circumstances. :)
Yeah right . You dont mean to offend by being sarcastic. Why are you in US? Go take care of your old parents in India? More than your money they need your physical presence there.
Oh wait, you probably have a brother who did not study much or maybe a sister in India who is taking care of them and you only provide monetory support.
And yes, I dont care if this offends you.

Between July & August do you think it will cross 1.5 years taking all of 2006 & half of 2007 applications? Considering VdlRao's data which is 70K applications pending for 2006 I am not sure it will work thought I am still hopeful that 2005 will pass quickly since there are few PERM applications.

karan,
thats true, You will not get red marks. Coz, everybody agrees with that. It is just some good news and hope for EB2. Otherwise, people will be left with no option but to move back to their home country's in current markets.

07/07/2007: USCIS Reportedly Admitted Some I-485 Approvals at Last Minutes Without Completion of FBI Security Clearance
* New York Times, http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/06/us/06visa.html?hp, has reported:
"To complete the applications in time, the immigration agency put employees to work both days last weekend at service centers in Texas and Nebraska, immigration officials said. They said that 25,000 applications were processed in the final 48 hours before Monday’s deadline. In some cases, security clearances required by the F.B.I. were not entirely completed, immigration officials said. The agency approved some applications “when we were certain the process will be completed very shortly,” Mr. Aytes said."
* The report also indicates that the State Department and the USCIS tend to disagree with each other for the root of the problem for the current fiasco. Earlier there was a report in the Washington Post that the USCIS denied that the USCIS worked ceaselessly and frantically during the weekends (two days) before July 1, but it has been admitted since then the employees indeed worked hard during the two days. According to the NY Times report, during the weekend alone, they approved 25,000 I-485 backlog applications.
* We are afraid that the alleged admission of approval of I-485 application before completion of the security clearance is likely to face the legal challenge for violation of the rules which is likely one of the main claims of the AILF lawsuit as well as the political backfire as an issue of security lapse relating to the homeland security. It appears that the July visa bullen fiasco is going out of control and pushes the two agencies into an edge.

Can you please tell me the senators office you called so that I can call them too ..:) more calls the better
CALL your state senators. State senators are interested in listening from people who reside in their respective states, Cause they technically represent them. So they want to hear what affects their constituents.
Call your state senators first, then call your house reps, (remember logfren is a house rep) and then the others.

For all the replies to my post. I understand that there are many others in the same situation I am in, who can understand and feel the injustices of this process.
I understand that we made personal choices and we have to take responsibility for our actions, if something is clear is that h1-B is a NON-EMIGRANT visa. I just wish there was more transparency from the USA government when it comes to apply for PR through employment. The backlogs and collapse of the system, only reflect the lack of interest in solving the problem which in my opinion it's also a reflection of the lack of interest in having any more skilled professionals coming to the US.
Most of the participants in this forum are from India. I appreciate your insights and wisdom, you are well known for being spiritual people who work hard through hardships in life. Many of you have left here important advices and I am grateful for that.
Personally I have done my best to live a life outside this green card ordeal. I have moved on trying to live a normal life without being obsessed with this problem, but as most of you know, reality hits quite often and we are reminded of the limitations that our legal position imposes, more often than not.
I am only regret the rude comment of somebody who replied saying " Give up something you don't have? Live a life". It's true I don't have anything to give up and that is the sad part of all this process. I have invested thousands of dollars from my own pocket, gone under distress and suffered the unfairness of the system in exchange of nothing. Yet.
Thanks for your feedback, and good luck to all you. I hope that someday in the future people from my country, or any country for that matter, wont be forced to leave their families and friends behind because of unbearable live conditions we face.
